This training is delivered by Dr Louise Mansell, Clinical Child Psychologist and Creator of Tedology. It is designed to support staff teams to understand how to create emotionally nourishing environments, and how to use the Tedology Bear in a more comprehensive, intentional, and informed way – either as part of a daily routine (Calm and Connect) or as a 6–8 session model (Teddy’s Tools) for children who may benefit from a little extra emotional guidance and support.
This 45–90 minute training is designed specifically for teams using the Tedology Bear and focuses on how everyday experiences in early childhood shape emotional wellbeing and future resilience. Complimentary training sessions are offered for those making bulk purchases and for charities – please email for further details.
Why This Training Matters
Early childhood represents a crucial window of brain development, where experiences of safety, connection, and regulation lay the foundations for emotional health, learning, and resilience later in life.
Grounded in attachment theory and developmental neuroscience, this training supports educators to understand:
- How everyday emotional experiences shape the developing brain of young children
- How small tweaks to environments, interactions, and language can support emotional development
- Why regulation and emotional safety are foundational for learning
- The practical application of using Tedology across different settings and levels of need
This training builds on the Tedology guide by explaining the science behind each element, including how sensory input, language, and relational experiences support regulation and emotional development.
Educators and Practitioners Will Gain
✔ An understanding of emotional development and regulation
✔ Confidence applying practical strategies in daily practice
✔ A shared language and approach across the team
✔ Practical ways to support emotional wellbeing and future resilience

Meet Teddy
This Teddy is more than just a teddy bear, Its a multi-sensory comforting companion with a voice box that guides children through a range of tried and tested activities to help children navigate emotions.
With features like fidget-friendly paws, a lightly weighted body and sensory tags, Teddy offers a multi-sensory experience that supports emotional well-being and resilience
“This is a truly wonderful product. The bear was treated like a VIP from the moment we brought it home. The impact was profound: my boys were talking about emotions more freely in such a short space of time, naming feelings, talking about times they were brave, and even creating their own emotional combinations. The parent instructions and guidance will be a welcome addition. ”
— Sally
Speech & Language Therapist
“It helped my daughter calm herself down independently, instead of needing us to help her, which she felt proud of having done. As well as using it as a definite comfort item, especially at night. The bear was involved in games, play, and even went on a bike ride.”
— Shannon
Mum of Three
“Our children loved the having the bear to sleep over. We had to take it everywhere with us, from setting up the morning picnic to bedtime, the bear was there.”

“My two boys, 13 and 11 years old. Absolutely love teddy’s Deck of Emotions.
The fun, relatable cards have made it so much easier for them to recognise and express their feelings and emotions. I would highly recommend to all parents.”
