Our Story
Tedology was founded on a simple but powerful idea: that every child deserves to feel emotionally safe, supported, and understood. Created by Clinical Psychologist Dr Louise Mansell, Tedology combines science, empathy, and the innate comfort of a teddy bear to help children explore and express big feelings - one gentle moment at a time.
With over 15 years of experience supporting children and families, Louise saw firsthand how hard it can be for children to find the words for what they feel, and for adults to know how to help. Tedology was born from those experiences - designed to gently bridge that gap with tools that work in the real world.

Meet Teddy
While the Tedology Bear may look like a teddy bear, it is actually an emotional wellbeing kit designed to help children talk about feelings, feel calmer, and manage big emotions through connection and play.
At the centre is a comforting multi-sensory teddy with fidget-friendly paws, a lightly weighted body, sensory tags, and a simple press-button voice box. Each press of the tummy guides children through playful activities that support emotional understanding, calming, confidence, transitions, and worries.
The Tedology Bear Kit also includes feelings cards, children’s workbooks, practitioner and parent guidance, and live webinar support, making it easier for adults to support emotional wellbeing at home, in classrooms, and in professional settings.

What We Believe
Emotions deserve space.
Children feel things deeply. Tedology gives them a safe, comforting outlet to process those feelings in their own time, in their own way.
Support should feel natural.
Emotional learning doesn’t need to be clinical. It can happen in small, everyday moments - at bedtime, after school, or when things just feel too big.
Children lead the way.
Tedology is child-centred by design. From the bear’s sensory features to the language of the audio, everything has been shaped with real children in mind.

Whether it's used as part of bedtime routines, calm-down spaces, or emotional check-ins. Tedology is here to support connection, calm, and support emotional growth, but it is not an alternative to professional care and support.
“This is a truly wonderful product. The bear was treated like a VIP from the moment we brought it home. The impact was profound: my boys were talking about emotions more freely in such a short space of time, naming feelings, talking about times they were brave, and even creating their own emotional combinations. The parent instructions and guidance will be a welcome addition. ”

“It helped my daughter calm herself down independently, instead of needing us to help her, which she felt proud of having done. As well as using it as a definite comfort item, especially at night. The bear was involved in games, play, and even went on a bike ride.”

“Our children loved the having the bear to sleep over. We had to take it everywhere with us, from setting up the morning picnic to bedtime, the bear was there.”

The fun, relatable cards have made it so much easier for them to recognise and express their feelings and emotions. I would highly recommend to all parents.”
